Community Canvas is an initiative presented by The Culture Show where GBH features artwork from community members on our Digital Mural.
Today’s mural features a black-and-white portrait of garden-grown flowers, photographed by Libby Ellis. Her pictures serve as visual portals to Nature and the Divine.
“My studio practice is wholly intentional and meditative,” Ellis says. “Like early photographers, I rely on natural sunlight and do not digitally manipulate the photos in any way.”
Ellis’s work has been exhibited in international galleries and in private and public collections, including the Harvard Divinity School and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The Royal Horticultural Society has recognized her work with multiple awards.
